Bread dance is a contemporary dance collective based out of Phoenix, AZ under the direction of Dana Metz - creating thematic pieces of work through a collaborative process emphasizing dancers individual qualities to create unique and honest movement.

Our mission is to connect to the Arizona dance community by providing open company classes, intensives and performance opportunities.

Dana Metz

Born and raised in Arizona, Dana Metz began her own dance training at the age of eight. She studied ballet and modern dance at the School of Ballet Arizona and has worked with some of the industry's top choreographers. One of the most popular teachers in Phoenix, Dana is noted for her innovative style and national award winning choreography. Dana has worked as a dance teacher and choreographer for the past ten years. Dana travels extensively throughout the United States, teaching master classes and setting choreography for individuals as well as studios. Dana was named 1st runner - up at the 2010 Capezio A.C.E. competition at the 2010 Dance Teacher Summit and was able to show her own work at the Roseland Ballroom in New York. She also was awarded 1st place at the McCallum Theater Choreography Festival in 2014. Dana has recently worked with Convergence Ballet and Wanderlust Dance Project as well as working with her own company Dana Metz Co.

Nullin Hasan

Music from all around the world is often different and yet so similarly satisfying. The powers of music and sound are mighty and infinite in how they can be experienced. I believe fully in this power, and seek to explore, inspire, and be inspired. I love to play live, anything from EDM to funk and reggae, as well as write. I studied electronic production at Berklee College of Music and have since been composing (mainly for contemporary dance with Dana Metz Co.) as well as playing/recording with various bands. I greatly appreciate any opportunity to learn and work with others, let's make something great together!
